FIS Ski World Cup in Soelden
Stars of the skiing world gather at the glacier
Each year, the prelude to the new FIS World Cup season begins in Soelden. The first men's and women's races traditionally take place at the Rettenbach glacier. Make sure to be there when the battle for the first World Cup points begins!
While other ski resorts are still waiting for the first snow to fall, the Soelden glacier resort already offers the best conditions for Alpine ski racing. Before the giant slalom skiing battle starts on Saturday and Sunday, everyone gathers on the Friday evening for the start numbers to be allocated. Here you can meet the skiing stars in person and for once see them without their skiing suits and helmets!
The giant slalom kicks off on the Saturday. Each year, the women take to the tracks first, followed by the men the day after. Anybody of distinction will be there during these few days in the Tyrol, taking their places in the big stand in the finish area. Thousands of fans wait here and cheer on the athletes as they head towards the finishing line. A very special atmosphere lingers over the finish area at such a time.
Events offside the race
In addition to the race, a large party is held at the Rettenbach glacier along with the Oktoberfest World Cup in Soelden. Celebrate this fantastic party with fans from across the world. And when the Ski World Cup in Soelden has finished, you can take to the slopes and experience for yourself where the great athletes fought for victory.
